UX Designer

Job Description
BuzzShift is seeking a UX designer to share some of the current workload and expand our web design capabilities. We need someone who can stay focused in a busy office (while still having fun) and isn’t afraid to voice their (helpful and knowledgeable) opinions. Responsibilities include working directly with front-end developers, website wireframing and design, and web application UX.

We’d like you to have about 3-5 years of experience in website and graphic design (with the portfolio to prove it), and a developed understanding of user experience and data visualization. Adobe Creative Suite proficiency is a must. Bonus points for hobbyist photographers, but design and personality come first.

SEO Analyst

Are you interested in the technical side of marketing? Do you see patterns in numbers, and bring astute observations out of data? Do you wonder how Google brings up its search results, and how you can make a career out of it? If so, then we have a job opening for you. We are looking for a search engine optimization (SEO) Analyst. Understanding human intent, and combining it with data analysis, is the primary skill for this position. Entry level to 3 years of experience, so if you don’t have prior experience, that’s not a deal killer for us. You DO have to love data, but not be a robot. Job Description
The SEO Analyst position is responsible for supporting clients via the fulfillment of on and off-site SEO, ongoing client consultation, implementation and support of industry standard SEO best practices while investigating and analyzing creative strategies to increase client visibility. Qualitatively, the job requires that you think intuitively to understand human intent, and that you LOVE data. The goal is to observe, identify, and pull out patterns that are meaningful to the client. This job consists of two main areas of responsibility: fulfillment and analysis. Specifically, the SEO Analyst should be able to:

  • Perform keyword research in coordination with client business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities
  • Provide SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of websites and web pages
  • Provide recommendations and execute strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals – general and keyword specific
  • Guide SEO fulfillment project tasks to timely and successful completion.
  • Constantly analyze client site performance through internal and external systems to create and deliver observations and recommendations to clients.
  • Communicate SEO data analysis to account executives and clients, focusing on tactics implemented, performance to goal ratios, short and long-term solutions, and creative strategies involving both proven and emerging technologies.
  • Implement link building campaigns in coordination with client SEO goals
  • Assist in development and execution of communication/content strategies via social communities in coordination with SEO goals
  • Keep pace with SEO, search engine, social media and internet marketing industry trends and developments
  • Monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports and key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance client goals

  • Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels
  • Communication to team and management on project development, timelines, and results
  • Work closely with the other team members to meet client goals



Qualifications

  • 4 year college degree (Business, Marketing, Psychology, or Sociology)
  • High preference given to experience in statistics and/or data analysis



Knowledge

  • Experience with various project types including web, brand and strategic consulting
  • Familiarity with PPC (Pay-Per-Click) and social media
  • Working knowledge of SEO keyword research and analysis (preferred)
  • Knowledge of site architecture and site mapping (preferred)
  • Experience with website analytics programs such as: Omniture, WebTrends, or Google Analytics (preferred)

Internship

Job Description
BuzzShift, a Digital Strategy Firm, is currently seeking a college student to shadow and be trained by our co-founders. It’s a startup, so we all wear multiple hats in the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:
The responsibilities are a 50/50 split between assisting the CEO and CSO, and learning the skill sets for a career in the digital space. As the liaison to the co-founders for all professional and personal matters, you must be solution oriented and adaptable to change. The primary responsibilities of this position will include organizing complex business calendars and personal schedules, coordinating travel arrangements and special events, management of invoices, handling communication in and out of the office, and other related duties as needed. From a social media standpoint, the individual must be already be active on various platforms, and have an open, inquisitive mind towards managing and participating in new platforms and channels.

Applicants must have excellent organization and communication skills and be able to handle multiple tasks. A communications or journalism degree is preferred, as writing and content creation are key to this position. We are looking for a task-oriented individual willing to learn from a growing startup and to wear multiple hats within the organization.

Developer Internship

Job Description
BuzzShift is looking for a development intern to round out our team. We need someone who can stay focused in a busy office (while still having fun) and isn’t afraid to speak up when they have a question. Responsibilities include helping build WordPress sites, and researching tools and trends for WordPress, as well as other platforms and frameworks.

We need you to have at least some experience with WordPress (even if you just set one up for a class) and a knowledge of PHP other than WordPress (or at least an interest in it). Also, we’d love it if you have an interest in other back-end languages, especially NodeJS, or front-end languages, such as the new HTML5 docs, CSS3 docs, and the latest in Javascript APIs. For the front-end developers — AngularJS is a plus.
