In a crowded travel industry, we doubled our client’s goals through Google search ads.
The Opportunity.
San Luis Resort in Galveston, TX had a simple request: to earn at least a 700% return on advertising spend through Google PPC. Of course, bidding on travel terms meant going up against some much larger competitors, such as Trivago, Expedia, Booking.com, and Hotels.com. In comparison, our single resort’s ad budget was very modest.

The Plan.
To get the best return on investment, we focused not just on maximizing conversions, but on maximizing the quality of those conversions. To do so, we took advantage of a new (at the time) bid strategy from Google. We set up separate campaigns targeting different geographic areas, allowing us to seasonally adjust ad budgets to focus on whichever audience was performing best at any given time.

The goal was a return on ad spend of at least 700%. Overall, the campaign doubled the client’s goal, with an average 1,400% ROAS
